Edward Myles Byrne, 20 year old university student, survived with minor injuries after his car crashed at Bowen Drive on February 19, 2012. Witnesses saw the 20 year old running a red light at the intersection of Eyre Street and Wentworth Avenue with a speed of 140 km/hr in a 60km/hr zone. Byrne went on to overtake another vehicle when he lost grip and went crashing and undulating on Bowen Drive.
Byrne was sent to the hospital and stayed thereat for days immediately after the accident. He had no recollection of what transpired during the night of the incident.
